2024.10 – Past, Present and Future – Vol 8
This is one of my fav mixes in a while. It has everything from Breaks, to Tech House, to Minimal Techno, to Progressive House, mixed in waves, as if you were at a club/party.

Recorded late at night, I started this one off on a breakbeat tip, but it quickly moves to Tech House and Minimal Techno. Mostly new tracks, but a few of my own tunes, a few oldies, blended to make you feel like you’re in a dark warehouse in the 90s. Take a toke and enjoy the ride.
Way back in the early days of the interwebz, I was part of an online magazine: Selekta. Over the years, the magazine faded away, but my buddy Dennis Lowry kept the name alive with a web-based record label. With over 100 releases and 15+ years of good vibes, he asked me to put together a mix for their upcoming podcast and release on the label. All of these, except for my edits, are available wherever you buy awesome House music.
Last one in the Quarantine Series, I decided to make a mix on my birthday that is mainly Playa & deeper House. Things stay pretty tame, til half way through, when the tempo picks up, but everything ends on a chill note.
If my dates are correct, I recorded this in Spring 2002 and I’m pretty sure I plonked a tape in the tape deck after visiting Platinum Records for the first time, after moving to Seattle. San Francisco style house was all the rage and I made it a point to collect all of it. Is it perfect? Far from it, but there’s some old gems in there. I trainspotted everything I can recall.
Recorded on my MiniDisc player in the grungy-ass venue known as The Root in Boulder, CO, this was an 11pm or Midnight set.
